Day by Day Plan
Day 1
Arrival in Gondar & Trek to Sankaber Camp
Arrive in Gondar and travel by road to Debark, the gateway to Simien Mountains National Park, where permits and park arrangements are completed. Continue by vehicle toward Sankaber, followed by a short introductory hike along the escarpment with wide views over the northern Ethiopian highlands. This first walk offers a great chance to observe wildlife, especially groups of gelada baboons in their natural habitat.

Day 2
Sankaber to Gich Camp (Highland Landscapes)
Begin your trek along the ridge, enjoying dramatic views of deep valleys and distant cliffs. Descend toward the Jinbar River and visit the impressive Jinbar Waterfall as it drops into a vast gorge. Along the route, keep an eye out for wildlife such as Walia ibex and various bird species unique to the region.
Continue hiking to Gich village, where you will stay overnight at the campsite.
Day 3
Gich to Chennek via Imet Gogo (Panoramic Trek)
After breakfast, start a full-day trek through one of the most scenic parts of the Simien Mountains. Reach Imet Gogo viewpoint, where you can enjoy wide 360-degree views of cliffs, valleys, and mountain ridges. Continue toward higher viewpoints such as Innateye, with chances to see unique plants, birds, and high-altitude landscapes.
Descend to Chennek camp for overnight, located in an area known for frequent wildlife sightings.
Day 4
Chennek, Peak Views & Return to Gondar
Start the day with a hike toward Mount Bwahit, one of the highest peaks in the Simien range, offering impressive mountain scenery. This area is one of the best places to spot the rare Walia ibex, found only in Ethiopia. Enjoy views toward Ras Dashen, the highest mountain in the country, before returning to Chennek.
Meet your vehicle and drive back to Gondar, ending your trekking adventure.
