Day by Day Plan
Day 1
Fly to Bale & Explore Dinsho Area
Fly from Addis Ababa to Bale and transfer to Dinsho, the park headquarters. Take a guided walk through the forest and grassland to spot endemic wildlife like mountain nyala and warthogs. Enjoy the fresh highland air and scenic surroundings as an introduction to the park.
Overnight stay at lodge or campsite in Dinsho.
Day 2
Drive to Harenna Forest & Highland Trekking
Drive through the mountains into the Harenna Forest, one of the largest forests in Ethiopia. Explore the dense vegetation and look for monkeys and unique bird species. Take a short trek in the forest to experience a completely different ecosystem from the highlands.
Overnight stay near Harenna Forest.
Day 3
Sanetti Plateau & Tullu Dimtu (High Altitude Experience)
Drive up to the Sanetti Plateau, one of the highest roads in Africa. Search for the rare Ethiopian wolf in its natural habitat. Continue to Tullu Dimtu, the second highest peak in Ethiopia, for panoramic views.
Return to your lodge after exploring this unique high-altitude landscape.
Day 4
Return to Addis Ababa
Enjoy a relaxed morning with one last view of the Bale Mountains. Transfer to the airstrip for your return flight. Fly back to Addis Ababa.
